solv-beach-cleanupVolunteering with your co-workers is not only fun, it makes good business sense. Not only do you give back to the community that supports your products, but you create positive publicity for your business by volunteering. When you and your co-workers or employees participate as a group at a project, other volunteers notice you and you have an opportunity to talk with other volunteers – who could all be potential customers! If you wear t-shirts or create a banner or poster with a business logo your visibility increases. You also have a chance to socialize and team build outside the workplace!

People notice when businesses volunteer and it gives your business a positive image. SOLV’s Fall Beach Cleanup is always popular with business groups. This year, hundreds of Wells Fargo employees and family members converged at the Oregon Coast wearing matching t-shirts.

“Wells Fargo team members were incredibly enthusiastic and were great to work with. They were organized and excited to be at the beach and their energy rubbed off on other volunteers,” said Nancy Willmes who was at Gleneden Beach along with roughly 100 Wells Fargo associates. “I look forward to developing relationships with Wells Fargo associates here in Hillsboro.”

There are many different ways for your business to volunteer in the Hillsboro area. If you are looking for a one shot opportunity, SOLV, the Hillsboro Parks Department, and Hands On Greater Portland all numerous projects where you can get involved. If you want to make an ongoing volunteer commitment there are dozens of deserving orgaizations in the area. I would be happy to talk with you more about how to volunteer.
