Interview with Gregg Goldhammer

Posted by: Bob In: People

This week Y&I is interviewing Gregg Goldhammer, a Broker currently working for Windermere/Baldwin Properties.

gregg-bioGive us a brief bio, where you were born, and where you’ve lived.
I was born and raised in Hillsboro, OR, completed my BA in History at Washington State in Pullman. Studied abroad in Montreal, Canada. Worked on Master’s Studies at California State University, Fullerton. Then returned to Hillsboro.

Name one person who has inspired you. What did you learn from them and how have you put that into practice?
My grandfather has been a great inspiration to me. He started from humble beginnings but has spent the past 45 years as a sole practioner of a real estate firm.  I learned to work hard and provide ethical counsel to customers.

What do you do for a living? And how did you fall into that position?
I’m a Realtor and I first got into the business from 2000-2003, then returned after grad school and after I was laid off by Blue Cross Health Insurance.  I worked in the insurance industry during my graduate studies.

Catch us up-to-date on how you came to work with Y&I? And what “position” do you hold?
I’m the vice-chair for the group and was recruited into it by my Principal Broker, Matt Crile, who serves on the Chamber’s Board of Directors.

In your own words, what is Y&I?

Y&I is a place to help young Hillsboro residents enter into the larger business community.  At it’s best, it can be a place to help the larger Chamber “farm” future leaders for both the local business and political community.

Feel free to contact Gregg Goldhammer at 503-939-7914.
